Images via Marian Bantjes.
Marian Bantjes is a designer, typographer, writer and illustrator working internationally from her base on a small island off the west coast of Canada, near Vancouver.
Her work is distinctly ‘classical’ and adult. It’s the sort of thing you expect your seasoned graphic design lecturer at university to produce – thought-through, purposeful and just looks really polished. Marian certainly has her own style, but it’s clear each brief has been processed with integrity.
A truly great inspiration for young designers to learn from.

Tom Bagshaw works as a commercial illustrator in Bath, England. He has worked for clients such as Saatchi & Saatchi, Sony, the BBC, Kraft and GQ. These high profile clients are no surprise when looking at his imaginative, polished and beautifully artworked ideas. Luckily, there is no shortage of these ideas to sift through. Below is only a small selection of the work Tom has on his portfolio website, mostlywanted.com. Head over there for more excellent paintings and additional info.

His work is very impressive, but it’s his logo designs that I love most about his portfolio.

From therobottiger.com:
“My name is Julian, I live in New York, and I love the abstract arts. I also love great illustration that portrays more than zombies and blood. I’ve been working in the high end fashion industry for 3+ years working for companies like Howe Men to companies like RVCA(working on the Erin Wasser line.) I have knowledge in the field of graphic design, all the way to cut and sew. My fields are for sale, and I am almost always available for hire.”

Josh Keyes was born in Tacoma, Washington and currently lives and works in Portland Oregon with his wife, graphic designer Lisa Ericson.
Don’t miss out on reading this great interview from Arrested Motion which goes someway to explaining Josh’s process and interests.
Jonny Wan is an illustrator with a fascination for shapes, colour and wrinkles on faces and is inspired by aesthetics of ancient cultures and victorian packaging.
I’m a huge fan of his work and he is a true inspiration for me in turn.
